The Lincoln Team Partners with GIMUS

Lincoln researchers traveled to Havana, Cuba to present findings on the Out of Hospital Premature Natural Death (OHPND) cohort. The University of Havana’s Center for Demographic Studies and GIMUS, a premature death research group based in Cuba, hosted a two-day international conference in which researchers discussed how to prevent premature natural death in communities worldwide. The Lincoln Project was identified as an important partner in this endeavor.

Researchers based in Havana, namely Dr. Luis Ochoa, agreed to utilize Lincoln Project methodology to study premature death in their community. The data provided by GIMUS will expand research dedicated to preventing OHPND.

The Lincoln Project looks forward to continuing collaboration with international researchers and hopes this partnership will provide valuable insight into pervasive contributing factors to premature death.
