WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
The Lincoln Project is a team of researchers that has combined its experience, research interests, and expertise to determine ways to prevent Out of Hospital Premature Natural Death (OHPND), which strikes citizens in eastern North Carolina and other rural areas at a disproportionately high rate.
Ultimately, our vision is to introduce practical community-centered interventions that improve rural health.
We Value Community
We partner with existing community leaders to engage patients through the creation and evaluation of community-centered intervention and prevention programs. By viewing communities as the cornerstone of well-being, we believe we can produce long-term change that goes beyond local interventions.
We Take Action
We are committed to implementing and evaluating novel intervention strategies focused on reducing the incidence of OHPND in 29 counties in eastern North Carolina. We intend to bridge the gap between urban and rural regions and establish interventions that can be applied in countless areas to create healthy, thriving communities.
We Promote Collaboration
We recognize that health and well-being are constantly influenced by a variety of factors, whether those factors be environmental, social, cultural, or medical. As such we adopt a multidisciplinary approach to health that invites collaborators with backgrounds in nursing, cardiology, psychology and public health, among others.
